Lets start with an interesting tale of Lord Shiva, revered as ultimate “devotee of lord shiva”. People know Lord Shiva for his divine, mischievous and playful acts. Furthermore, his unlimited love for his devotees and everyone in the entire universe shines through in every tale. On top of that, many people call him by many different names such as Neelkanth, Mahadev, etc. One of the most cherished thread is, the love he has for his devotees and the bond he shares with them . Therefore, let’s give a look to a story that underline this connection.

Joyous Moments between Shiva and Devi

In that moment, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were joyfully spending their time together, with Bhairava set as the gatekeeper at the entrance. As Lord Shiva and his beloved goddess Parvati were exchanging playful banter and pranks with each other, suddenly, some of Parvati’s friends, who were devoted to shiva entered the palace to meet them. Curious to hear tales from their much adored Neelkanth, they gathered around him in a circle.

Being the prankster he is, Lord Shiva began recollecting and narrating stories of his divine and playful acts and moreover, trying to provoke the goddess more for fun. He was narrating tales to them with all his interest. As he entertained them with all his enthusiasm, Goddess Parvati was hit with the tingling sensation of rage and jealousy. As a result, unable to control her irritation, she stormed out of the palace in anger. Meanwhile, Lord Shiva, being the lark, laughed wholeheartedly seeing goddess Parvati jealous. Then, he told her friends, “Let me show you a tale now.” As Goddess Parvati was heading out, he called her “Devi, where are you going?’’ .Undeniably, his voice was filled with laughter and tease. His laughter echoed through the hall mixing along with the chuckle of her friends.

The Curse And Its Repercussions

Goddess Parvati reached the entrance in anger. Unluckily, Bhairav mistakenly thought that she was just an ordinary visitor wanting to visit Lord Shiva. In a moment of misinterpretation, he stopped her rudely and asked about her identity. Displeased by this disrespect and rudeness goddess Parvati, in her anger cursed Bhairava to descend to earth and live as an ordinary human being and suffer the consequences of his action. Realizing the weight of the curse, Bhairava briskly apologized to the goddess for his mistake, but he had recieved the curse . Hearing the commotion, Lord Shiva approached the goddess. As the healer of all the pains of his devotees, wanted to reduce the burden of his devotee. Therefore ,Triloknath Bhaktavatsal Devaadhidev, Lord Shiva, assured Bhairav” I will help you to lessen the impact of curse”.

Devotion Of Lord Shiva

According to the curse, Bhairav Ji began to start rooming on the earth in the form of vetaal. To rescue his devotee, Lord Shiva incarnated on earth and started performing the acts of courage, bravery, sympathy and empathy. Above all, he would appear in front of bhairav in disguise, guiding him through the entire period of his punishment and reminding him the strength of devotion.

Ultimately, the bond between the Shiva and his devotees deepened. Illustrating how love and devotion can win over anger and gives strength to fight any problem. Hence, this story magnificently reflects that how Lord Shiva express courage, bravery, sympathy and empathy for all his devotees and linking them with his divine essence for forever.
