The story of Bhudeva Shiva

Bhudeva-Shiva, the Creator of the Universe

As we know, Brahma Ji created the universe. In Shiv Mahapuran, humans were created by Lord Shiva for the working of the universe as per Brahma Ji’s wish. Initially, Brahma Ji created a dark universe, and then, being disappointed by that, he created a second universe, a universe full of beautiful birds, but they started following the wrong path again. He made a third universe of gods but didn’t feel satisfied, and at last he created a fourth universe of humans.

Tapasya for Shiva

The cosmic trickster and mischief maker, Shiva, played a prank on Brahma Ji for fun and put him in trouble. However after seeing his saddened face, he wanted to make him happy. Therefore Shiva, from his body, produced eleven Swaroop and commanded them to create a universe. As a result Eleven Swaroop went to Brahma Ji. Brahmadev asked, “Who are you all?” . Then, Shiva said, “Hey, Brahma Dev Ji, I am the Anant, born as your son in this universe now; you can complete the creation of the universe.”.

The cosmic dance, Rudra Tandav—5 elements formation

five elements

Shiva began to perform a cosmic dance, Rudra Tandav, to release the energy that will shape the universe and manifest the Brahma universe into the physical world. His hair was flying, his eyes glowing. He stamped his foot on the ground, creating a sound and vibration energy, forming Prithvi (Earth) . His sprinkling sweat from fiery dance sprinkled from his forehead and gave birth to Jala (water). The intense heat released from his body by Tandav creates intense and igniting flames of purity called Agni (fire). By the flapping of his arms, he gave rise to Vaayu (air)  that gives life to all humans. Similarly he expanded his consciousness to create a sky

Therefore ,Shiva was blessed with the name of Bhudeva

why shiva created the universe

cosmology and shiva

So, in the context of Shiva ‘s cosmological role, as it is about balance and transformation within cosmic order. His dance of creation and destruction reveals how life is a continuous cycle of renewal and relying upon the interconnection between these two opposites. Shiva shows us all things enter in our life for a purpose, and when the purpose is fulfilled, he ends it. This is how life slowly comes to an end after fulfilling its purpose. This serves as a creative  and destructive part of life and a way for more new beautiful beginnings. This cycle of change ensures life’s’ continuity, and recognizes that each ending is only the beginning of another phase in the eternal dance to which all things move.

the end is the beginning with shiva
